Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Lara nods and heads back into the castle.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Cloud sighs and turns back around, facing the graves. He takes a long look at Sin and the Buster Sword before turning and heading in beside Gin. "Any final words for me before I leave?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I would imagine that if someone had feelings for another person, they would stick by them when they most need help. Ayn is distraught. This demon that attacked today is most likely going to report to his master. Why would you leave now?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Cloud tightens his glove and sighs, walking into the main hall with Gin. "She wouldn't understand it anyways. I don't need to burden her with my feelings, and she'd be quite confused if she knew I liked her like that." He takes the keys from his pocket. "Ayn will be fine with you and Lara here, and I can take care of Legion and Rand if they decided to actually show again. Besides, I need to pick up a few things if I actually even plan to take care of the girl." Cloud grins and walks to the door and opens it. "Nice meeting you, Avalon." He closes the large door to the castle and after a few brief moments, a motorcycle engine is heard as well as a loud screech as the bike takes off into the unknown.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
He understands as Cloud finishes talking. (Though he gave a small sneer when he was refferred to simply as 'Avalon.') He sees Cloud off, and turns back to Lara, taking a seat. "I think it's best I stay here for now, this Rand fellow sounds dangerous. Despite what this. . cocky young man seems to think." One of the books on the bookshelf floats out and into Gin's hand. He opens it and begins reading to himself. "Ahh, ancient fighting techniques."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
On Riki's way out of the room, she sees a sword laying in the hallway. "Hayate's?" On it is an attached note saying that Hayate will return for Riki and, in the meantime, to use his sword. Riki grins and picks it up. Turning around, she steps back into the library. Minus well stick around for a little bit longer. Hayate will come back.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
He looks up from his book to the person who entered into the library. "Ahh, the only person in the castle who I haven't gotten the chance to meet." He rises. "What's your name?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I'm Riki..." She pauses and adds on her last name as an afterthought. "...Uth Haun. Who are you?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
He bows his head a little. "Riki Uth Haun, my name is Gin Avalon."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"It's nice to meet you, Gin Avalon. I knew One Avalon..." Her voice shakes as she mentions her lost friend's name. Overcoming it, she sighs and looks around the room. "I noticed that you were fighting a...thing...not too long ago. What was that?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I don't know what his name is, but I was told he works for a man named Rand." He sits down in a nearby chair. "Please, have a seat."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Riki does so, choosing a comfortable looking armchair. She sinks into it a little bit. "So what brought you here, Gin? A lot of blood has been shed in these walls...most people would advoid a place like this."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
He scratches his neck. "I would assume the answer is obvious. My sons are dead, I have come to pay my respects."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Oh...they were your...sons." Looking very embarrassed, Riki changes the subject. "Where do you live?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I found a home near the ancient city of Asania. It's nice, away from the troubles of modern life. I beg for quiet time in my old age. What about you? Where does Miss Haun live?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I don't really have a house....actually, I'm completly homeless." She laughs, not too worried about it. "When I need a place to stay and keep my head dry, I go to Tri-Link's Cafe. There's-usually-a roof there."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Tri-Link's Cafe? Hmm, even after all these years I never visited the place. Just never had time." He shifts in his seat.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"It's a nice place, albiet wierd. Lots of different people coming through there." She shifts in her seat, wondering what to talk about next. "So...uhm. I guess since you've found out that all your children are dead, you'll be moving on soon?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gins raises his eyebrows, almost insulted. "You mistake your words, Riki. Two of my sons are dead, yes. But I have other children. Two daughters, and Ayn is one of them. That's another reason why I came here to this castle."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Ayn's your daughter? That means...Gale was her..." Riki's eyes open in shock. "I'm sorry, I forget my manners. Forgive my mistake."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Her sleep, while long, had been restless and full of nightmares as she expected, and she awoke not really feeling rested at all. She glances at the nearby window: Great, rain. Again.
She rolls out of bed and trudges into the library, glancing briefly at the others in the room but not making any eye contact. |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Lara notices Ayn enter and nods toward her. "How'd you sleep?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gin takes a drink from his flask at his waist, and answers Riki. "Interesting how things work out." He sees Ayn walk in, but doesn't say anything, only watching her.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She only nods slightly at Lara, then starts to look through a bookcase, pulling out random books and tossing it in a stack on the floor.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gin watches, interested, as he sees Ayn messing around with the bookshelf. "What are you doing?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She stops, staring blankly at the bookcase. Truth is, she really doesn't know what she's doing; she can't read Abbissian so the books were useless to her at this moment. Nevertheless she takes the stack and carries them over to the desk she'd been using the past few days and sets them down.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gin walks over to Ayn, seeing she's stressed. "It's awkward for me, I know I cannot come here and start giving fatherly advice after all these years of not having one." He clears his throat. "This castle seems dangerous, but I'm not asking you to move somewhere else. I, myself, probably wouldn't go anywhere else either if I were in your position. You want to learn about your family and that's fine. However, you need protection, someone to guard you. I do not plan to live in this castle, so I can't offer my helping hand all the time. But you have your own friends, I think you should stay close to the Strife boy, he seems to know what he's doing." Gin felt strange inside, he normally did not bother with the problems of others, it was their business, not his. He didn't know why he was helping the boy, but he was.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Ayn arches an eyebrow, and shakes her head. It made sense, she supposed- Cloud had saved her ass back when Rand... She was probably better off not remembering that right now. "It's going to be hard to gain my trust when you only make sense half the time."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
The screech of a motorcycle comming to a halt is heard from outside of the castle, as Cloud walks in toating a small bag over his shoulder and a new, elegant looking Buster Sword strapped to his back in his sheathe. He walks into the library and places his things to the side, leaning the sword on the wall and looking at gin, an eyebrow arched. "Did I miss anything?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
He didn't respond to Ayn, he just stood there. She was the first person on this visit to get him to think. He smiled, she was definately a child of a Gin. But still, he couldn't help wonder what she meant with the trust thing. He sees Cloud walk in. "You didn't miss anything."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Good. Didn't want to." He goes back to Gale's piano, pressing little keys here and there making a tune. "I see that you're finally awake Ayn... you feel any better?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
__
In a red flash Legion appears on the top of the clocktower in Estecia. He steps inside and snarls into the shadows. "We have problems. One of the Gins showed up." __ Lara snickers at Cloud. "Aw, the stray came back. Don't feed him Ayn, you don't know where he's been." |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
The clock tower is shrouded in complete darkness, the only light comes from his glowing eye which illuminates a sinister expression. "Have patience. The man is unable to watch over Ayn for such a long period of time. You'll get your chance soon enough." With that he turns away, the only source of light with him.
_______ Ayn glances at Cloud, then shrugs slightly. She plops down at the desk and opens up a book, examining the fancy text. |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gin, not ready to give up sits across Ayn. "Listen, I understand where you're coming from. Give me a chance though." He takes the book she was looking at. "Let me help you learn how to read and write Abbissian."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Legion nods, but his annoyed look remains. "It'll be done, it IS my forte. Just remember to keep the stage clear." Without another word, Legion fades into the darkness.
__ Lara still doesn't seem to be pleased with Cloud's presence. "Why are you here, Mr. Strife?" |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She looks at him silently, studying his expression. Unable to find anything to argue against it, she only nods, then waits patiently for an answer from Gin.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Cloud takes his gaze from Ayn and looks at Lara, slightly confused by her constant bettery of his being there. "Do you need to ask that many questions? I'm not trying to hurt anyone or anything, mind your own business."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gin gives a warm smile to Ayn. "How would you prefer we start? You know how to speak abbissian, correct? Want to talk in abbissian or english?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Lara lets out an exasperated sigh and stands, moving toward the main hall and dragging Cloud with her. After she reaches her destination, she turns to Cloud with her hands on her hips. "I know why you came here, and I can tell you right now she doesn't need someone like you to add to her pain. I see how shalllow you are, and you won't find what you're looking for from Ayn. Despite how she looks, she has the mind of a little girl. So, now that we're clear on everything, there's no reason for you to stay. We're capable of taking care of Ayn. We don't need you throwing feelings at Ayn she won't share and confuse her more."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Ayn stares at Gin, bewildered. "Um.. I suppose it'd make more sense to speak in Abbissian." She turns and watches Lara drag Cloud out of the library and is somewhat curious about it, but she doesn't really think twice about it after turning back to face Gin.
